The Blue UV Light is
a best seller, used in homes
and businesses across the
world. This air duct or HVAC
mounted ultraviolet light
system features germicidal
UV-C lights that are high
output to kill living germs
such as viruses, bacteria,
mold and other airborne
pathogens. (And you can add
OxyCat
Version II to it too for
$59.95 (retails for $79.95
by itself) by selecting it
above. OxyCat is a photo
catalyst to fight odors and
volatile organic compounds.
If you decide to add the
OxyCat accessory to your
order it will arrive
pre-installed on the UV
lamps. OxyCat should last
the life of your system, but
at times needs replacement
after about 5 years,
depending on conditions
within the HVAC system.
This UV light disinfectant
system sanitizes the air you
breathe as it is circulated
throughout the ventilation
system (and cleans air
conditioning coils of sludge
buildup, mold, etc. at the
same time).
Applications:
800 square feet and above.
For larger homes with
multiple air handlers
(furnaces) you should
install 1 on each for
maximum protection from
living organisms.
Maximum Coverage:
No more than 10,000 square
feet, unless you are
installing multiple units in
multiple HVAC systems.
Mounting Options
Can be mounted to metal or fiber air ducts (select above). Can
also be mounted on plywood cold air intakes, which are common in
Florida and other southern states.
Wiring
This item comes standard for 120V / 60Hz (household voltage) and
optional universal voltage up to 280V. Overseas customers should
choose Universal Voltage so your UV air purification system can
operate at 50 or 60Hz, and at any voltage from 110 up to 280
Volts.
This UV air purifier uses only 0.5kwh of electricity. That
translates to an average U.S. power cost of $16 to $24 per year,
and that's with the UV air purifier running 24/7! (depending on
your electric rates).
What's Included
You will receive the UV air system with two UVC Light bulbs
(germicidal), mounting screws (or anchors for fiber ducts), and
a pilot hole drill bit. Inside the packaging you'll also find
plastic gloves for handling UV lamps and an illustrated
installation guide, along with a 10 Year Warranty document for
the power supply box that runs and monitors this system.
CaluTech UV has made it real easy for anybody to do.
What
you need to install this UV air purifier
You will need a power drill, a phillips screwdriver, and a 2
inch hole saw (available at any home center or hardware store,
and the hole saw can be larger if necessary, up to 2 1/2 inches.
Bi-metal hole saw preferred).
This ultraviolet light system is our most popular UV air
sanitizer for Heating, Ventilation & Refrigeration contractors.
In addition, it's also our most popular UV system for homeowners
looking for a whole home UV air purifier. Now you can easily
transform your furnace or central air conditioning system into
the largest ultraviolet light air sterilization system in town!
Installation averages 10 to 15 minutes and it's pure DIY
(do-it-yourself) or your local heating / AC service company can
install it for you!
NOTE:HARD WIRE UNITS DO NOT HAVE A SWITCH SINCE THE HARD WIRE
CONNECTION CAN TURN THE SYSTEM ON AND OFF. |

The Original CaluTech Blue UV Air Sterilizer model # 9002CB features two 16 7/16" double tube germicidal lamps
(like having 4 lamps) for maximum germicidal air
sterilization. This UV air cleaner destroys pathogens such as airborne
bio-agents, viruses, bacteria, mold, and common
germs. In addition the
'Oxycat Version
II' accessory can be added to this system
during checkout. It operates as a catalyst breaking
down and destroying volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
using a process known as Photocatalytic Oxidation.
Any building, or even your home, with forced air
heating and/or cooling can use this air
sterilization system, the most popular UV air
purifier. Many notice results and a change in the
air overnight. |
Made
for large homes

| This
2011 CaluTech Model product easily
mounts in 15-20 minutes on your
existing air duct (or plenum above
the coils/blower) and sanitizes air
as it recirculates through your
ventilation system. It radiates the
air and destroys living airborne
pathogens such as viruses, mold
sports, bacteria and more by using
extremely powerful ultraviolet light
that is pure germicidal. CaluTech
products are extremely powerful and
work fast. This same product is used
to strrilize air in surgical rooms,
and now you can sterilize the air in
your own home at a fraction of the
average cost. Choose the Blue UV Air
Sanitizer when results really
matter. Now you can add OxyCat
during checkout. |

Where do I install
my new CaluTech UV
Purifier?
|
|
The best
air purifier
installation
location is over the
top of the "A"
evaporator coil.
If you have A/C
we recommend
installation above
the Evaporator Coil.
If you do not know
where the coil is,
look for a drain
hose or copper lines
entering your air
duct. This is where
the coil is. You
want to install the
unit above this
coil. Because coils
are always wet, even
when the A/C is not
running, it becomes
a breeding ground
for bacteria,
viruses, dust mites,
and mold. The UV
light shining down
on this coil burns
all of these
pathogens up. DO NOT
drill right into the
duct where the drain
or copper lines are
coming out. You must
install it above the
coil. If you run a
drill bit into this
coil all the freon
will come out and
you will need an
HVAC contractor to
open the duct and
repair the coil, or
even replace it. A
good idea is to open
the panel to look
where it sits so you
know you've
installed it in the
right spot (see
illustration at
right).
If you do not have
A/C you
can install the unit
easily in the cold
air return line,
which is the duct
that brings the air
in the home or
building to the
furnace so it can be
heated (see
illustration below).

If you're in doubt,
call a heating & air
conditioning company
to install it for
you. It doesn't cost
much to have it
professionally
installed. Install
time is usually
around 30 minutes.
Either illustration
above shows the two
places you can
install: Above the
Evaporator Coil or
in the Cold Air
Return Line at the
bottom of the unit.

Attaching
Bulbs
Be
sure
to
follow
the
instructions
with
your
UV
system
and
be
very
sure
to
attach
bulbs
in
the
proper
order
as
instructed.
The
unit
is
labeled
and
tells
you
which
bulb
to
attach
first.
This
is
to
avoid
hitting
UV
lamps
together,
causing
broken
bulbs.
Be
sure
to
use
the
plastic
gloves
provided
with
your
UV
system.
This
is
to
keep
the
oil
from
your
hands
getting
on
the
bulbs,
which
can
shorten
the
life
of
the
bulbs. |
|
|
Step 1
After unpacking your UV
system, start by
removing the two small
red thumb screws that
secure the 2-piece
system together. You
also use these thumb
screws to open the
system and change UV
lamps when needed. These
small red screws are on
each end.
 |
|
Step 2
Once removed you can
lift the cover off of
the power supply. You
will use the cover as a
mounting template. This
system can be installed
vertically or
horizontally. In these
images it is being
installed horizontally.

|
|
Step 3
Hold the cover where you
will install the UV
system and use a marker
pen to trace the 2 large
holes and the 4 small
holes on the cover as
shown below. A drill bit
for the 4 small holes is
provided with your UV
system. You will need to
purchase a 2 inch
Bi-metal hole saw for
your drill. You can get
this accessory at a
local hardware store.
Installation is easy,
but I locally install
this system for $30. It
normally takes less than
30 minutes, with coffee!
Mark off your 2 inch
holes and screw holes
for drilling as
indicated below.
 |
|
Step 4
After marking your
drill holes, using a
drill with a 2 inch
hole saw, simply
center the saw over
the 2 large holes
and drill them out
for the UV lamps.
You can also use a
larger hole saw up
to 2 1/2 inches.
 |
|
Step 5
With the supplied
drill bit you will
now drill out the 4
small holes in each
corner. These holes
are for mounting
screws that secure
the unit. The screws
are supplied with
your UV system.
 |
|
Step 6
Now that the holes
are drilled out,
simply screw the
cover to the air
duct with the
supplied screws.

|
|
Step 7
Now attach the UV
lamps. Be sure to
refer to the
instructions that
came with your UV
system to learn how
they snap into
place.
Handle only the
base of the bulb and
be sure to wear the
plastic gloves
provided to protect
your bulbs from oil
from your hands.
 |
|
Step 8
After attaching
lamps, be very
gentle and attach
the UV system by
inserting lamps into
the holes, guiding
them in slowly.
 |
|
Step 9
Now fit the 2 pieces
back together and
screw the 2 red
thumb screws back
into place to secure
the system. Connect
power and turn on.
